Korean Document Translation Services For Your Family Papers
Korean records can feel like a puzzle, but you only need the right pieces. These are the family and school papers our Korean translation service handles most. If yours is missing here, please send it anyway.
Family Relation Certificate
The 가족관계증명서 lists your parents, spouse and children. It is often asked for in PR, LTVP and school forms. We translate every person's line, not only yours.
Basic Certificate
The 기본증명서 shows your own birth details and any name changes, with dates. Some offices use it as proof of birth, so we keep every entry.
Marriage Relation Certificate
The 혼인관계증명서 shows your marriage, and any earlier marriage or divorce. Please do not worry about past events on it, because we simply translate them faithfully.
Old Household Register
Before 2008, families were recorded in one register, called 호적. If you hold one, our old family register translation covers these older records with the same care.
Degree And Transcript
졸업증명서 and 성적증명서 are your graduation certificate and transcript. Course names and grades are copied exactly, so an employer or school can read them easily.
Korean Driving Licence
Planning to drive here? Our licence translation for Traffic Police covers both sides of the Korean card. Check the Traffic Police website for the latest rules first.
Korean To English Translation Service: Small Details We Look After
Six small details can cause big worries. When we translate Korean documents to English, we take care of each one below, so you can relax. Each row explains one detail and how we handle it for you.
| On your document | Why it is tricky | What we do |
|---|---|---|
| 일반 or 상세 version | The general version hides some past events, while the detailed one shows everything. | We gently help you check which version the office asked for. |
| A name like 이 | It can be written as Lee, Yi or Rhee in English. | We always follow the spelling in your current passport. |
| 2020년 3월 5일 | Korean dates put the year first, each part followed by a Korean word. | We write 5 March 2020, so the date is clear at a glance. |
| Hidden resident number | Part of the 주민등록번호 is often masked on printed copies. | We translate the number exactly as shown, hidden part included. |
| Names in Hanja | Older papers may show names in Chinese characters beside Hangul. | We translate both, and papers fully in Chinese go through our Chinese translation services. |
| Relation words like 장남 | Words such as eldest son or spouse are easy to mix up. | We translate each relation exactly, and you check them in the draft. |
If something on your paper worries you, just ask. We are happy to explain.
Korean Translator For Official Documents In Singapore
You may be wondering who will read your private papers. A native speaker who grew up with Korean handles every Korean document translation, and only the team on your order ever sees your files.
We also translate English into Korean, for papers you need to send to an office in Korea. Korea accepts apostilles, so for a notarised paper the SAL step can add one. We check what the office in Korea wants first.
Many families hold papers from more than one country. If some of yours come from Japan, we add Japanese document translation to the same order. One kind team, one quote, and names that match on every page.
Covered For You
- Korean to English for Singapore offices
- English to Korean for offices in Korea
- Hangul and older Hanja names
- New and pre-2008 family records
- Printed and online-issued certificates

Korean Translation Prices You Can See Before You Pay

What decides your final price
Number Of Pages
Each page is priced on its own. Most Korean certificates are one or two pages, which keeps the cost gentle.
General Or Detailed Version
A detailed certificate lists more life events, so it can run to more pages than the general version.
Notarisation
Notarisation starts from S$162.20 per document, which includes SAL authentication. Most people choose it for ICA, as a notarised translation is an accepted route.
Express Help
If time is short, express adds 50%. Same-day delivery is possible for many single-page certificates.
Papers Going To Korea
For English to Korean papers used overseas, the SAL step that comes with notarisation can add an apostille that Korean offices accept.
Copies And Delivery
If you also need a true copy of the original, notary and SAL together start from S$172.20 per document. Courier delivery starts from S$15 if you would like paper copies.

Frequently Asked Questions
01My Korean certificate was printed online. Will you accept it?
Yes. Certificates printed from Korea's online family record system are fine to send. We translate the printout exactly as it is. Keep the printed copy safe, in case an office wants to see it.
02Part of my resident number is hidden. Will that cause trouble?
Usually not. We translate the number exactly as it is shown. If an office needs the full number, it will tell you which version of the certificate to get.
03My Korean name is spelled differently on two papers. What should I do?
Please tell us before we start. We use the spelling in your current passport. Some offices may ask for extra proof that both names are you, and we can translate that proof too.
04Will ICA accept my Korean translation?
ICA accepts a translation by the issuing country's embassy, or a private translation notarised by a notary public. We prepare the notarised kind. ICA still decides on your whole application, so no one can promise the outcome.
05Can I get my Korean translation the same day?
Often, yes. Same-day express is possible for many single-page certificates and adds 50%. Send your photos early in the day and tell us your deadline.
06Is a notarised Korean translation the same as a sworn one?
Not exactly. Singapore has no official list of sworn translators. A sworn translation usually means the translator signs a statement before a notary. Ask the receiving office which kind it wants.
07Do you translate Korean bank or job papers too?
Yes. Employment letters, payslips and bank statements can be translated for a pass or a loan. The price depends on the number of pages, and you see it before we begin.
08What if I find a mistake after I receive the file?
Please do not worry. Tell us what you found and send a photo. If the error is in our translation, we fix it at no charge and send you a new file.
09Which Korean certificate do I need: family relation or basic certificate?
The family relation certificate (가족관계증명서) shows parents, spouse and children, so it proves family links. The basic certificate (기본증명서) shows your own birth and name details. Offices may ask for the detailed (상세) version, which shows past changes, so check your checklist first.
10Can I use Papago or Google Translate for my Korean papers?
These apps help you understand a paper, but their output is not an official translation. They often get Korean names, hanja and legal terms wrong. Singapore offices want a translation that has been notarised or attested by an embassy.
11Is a translation notarised in Korea accepted in Singapore?
ICA accepts a translation notarised by a notary public in the issuing country. So a translation notarised at a Korean notary office or law firm can fit that rule. Make sure the English name matches your passport spelling.
