Need to translate Indonesian Bahasa to English for a Singapore office? These are the papers we see most, each with its own layout. Not listed? Send a photo anyway, and our translator will reply with a price.
Akta Kelahiran
The birth record from Dukcapil, the civil registry. Late registration notes are translated too. It follows the same method as our certified birth certificate translation for other countries.

The Muslim marriage book or the civil marriage extract. Both are common for a spouse pass. Need one for a PR file? See our marriage cert translation for ICA.
Kartu Keluarga
The family card. Every row is translated: names, NIK, relationship and parents. Singapore offices use it to see how each family member is linked to the others.
KTP Identity Card
The national ID card. Name, NIK, address, birth date and every other field are translated. Send a clear photo with no glare on the plastic.
Ijazah And Transkrip
Diplomas, degree certificates and transcripts. Course names, grades and school seals are copied exactly as printed. Often used for jobs, work passes and study places.
Village And Court Letters
Letters from the kelurahan, divorce rulings and name change orders. Stamps, signatures and reference numbers are translated too. Nothing on the page is skipped or cut.
Common Traps In Indonesian Papers And How We Fix Them
Indonesian records have their own habits. Miss one, and an officer may ask questions. Below are the traps, and next to each is our fix. A certified translation Indonesian to English needs this kind of care.
| On your document | Why it is tricky | What we do |
|---|---|---|
| Tempat/Tgl Lahir | Place and date of birth share one box | We split them into two clear English fields |
| Single names | Many Indonesians have one name only | We follow the passport and never invent a surname |
| NIK numbers | Sixteen digits, and one slip breaks the match | Copied digit by digit, then checked by you |
| Kartu Keluarga layout | It works like a family register, similar to a Japanese koseki | Same method as our Koseki translation: every member row kept |
| Old spelling (dj, tj, oe) | Older papers use the spelling from before 1972 | We keep names as printed and match your passport |
| Notes in the margin | Late registration or correction stamps sit at the edges | Every note is translated in full |

Notarise Your Indonesian Translation If Needed
ICA asks for a notarised translation of an akta in a PR or pass file. An employer or bank may take a plain certified copy. We arrange the notary and the SAL authentication that every notarised paper has needed since 2019, from S$162.20 per document.
Cost Of Indonesian Translation In Singapore For Official Documents
Certified Indonesian translation in Singapore starts from S$25 per page. Six things decide your final price, and you can check them below. You get one fixed quote before you pay, and no hidden add-ons appear later.
What decides your final price
Page Count
Price is per page. A long Kartu Keluarga with many rows can run to more than one page.
Notary And SAL Fee
Needed for most ICA files in Singapore. Charged per document, from S$162.20, with SAL authentication included. Page count does not change it.
Express Speed
Same-day express adds 50% to the price. Best for single-page papers like a KTP or akta.
Papers Used In Indonesia
Indonesia joined the Apostille Convention in 2022. For a notarised paper, the SAL step in your price can add the apostille certificate.
Certified True Copy
Some offices want a stamped copy of the original. With notary and SAL, from S$172.20 per document. The notary must see your original.
Courier Delivery
The PDF comes by email or WhatsApp. A printed copy by courier starts from S$15. Or collect it at Suntec.

Frequently Asked Questions
01What will my official Indonesian documents cost to translate?
From S$25 per page. Notarisation, including SAL authentication, adds from S$162.20 per document, and express adds 50%. You get one fixed quote before you pay.
02Do I need an Indonesian sworn translator in Singapore?
Usually not for Singapore offices, where a notarised translation is the common route. Some offices in Indonesia want a penerjemah tersumpah only, so ask them first. For Singapore use, our sworn translation option adds a declaration made before a notary public.
03Will ICA accept the translation?
ICA accepts a private translation once a notary public notarises it. We arrange that step. ICA does not endorse any company, so always check the latest ICA checklist.
04Do you need my original akta?
No. Clear photos or scans are fine. Keep the original safe, because some offices ask to see it when you submit.
05My deadline is tomorrow. Can you make it?
Often, yes. Express can finish most one-page papers on the same day. Longer files usually need the normal 1–2 working days, so tell us your deadline in the first message.
06My name has no surname. What will you write?
Exactly what your passport shows. We do not add or split names. If your papers spell it differently, we flag it in the draft.
07My Buku Nikah is handwritten. Can you read it?
Usually, yes. Older marriage books and akta are often handwritten. If a word cannot be read, we mark it as unclear and never guess.
08My Indonesian original has a typo. Will you fix it in English?
No. We translate what is printed, because changing it would make the translation untrue. Ask Dukcapil or the issuing office for a corrected copy first, then send us the new one.
09Is a translation by a sworn translator in Indonesia accepted in Singapore?
A penerjemah tersumpah stamp is respected in Indonesia, but it is not one of the routes on ICA's list. ICA accepts an embassy translation, or a private translation notarised by a notary public or attested by the embassy. So an Indonesian sworn translation may still need one of those steps before you submit it here.
10Can I translate my own Indonesian documents for ICA?
A translation you make yourself counts as a private translation. ICA would still want it notarised or attested by the embassy, and a notary will usually ask who translated it and how. Most families find it simpler to let a professional translator prepare it and then arrange the notary.
11Does my Kartu Keluarga need to be translated in full?
Yes. Every member row, the head of family, the stamps and the issue date should all be translated. If only part of the card is in English, an officer cannot check the relationships, and you may be asked for more papers.
