Permanent Residence Papers In English, Prepared For ICA Checks
ICA asks for an English version of every foreign paper in your PR file. Our ICA PR translation follows that rule, so a birth certificate in Chinese, Tamil or Bahasa is translated in full, then notarised when ICA needs it.
ICA accepts three kinds of translation, as the ICA website explains. The embassy of the country that issued the paper can do it. A notary public can do it. Or a private company translates it and a notary public notarises it. We follow that third path, giving you a translation with notary public for each paper.
What does notarise mean? A notary public is a senior lawyer who checks the translation, then adds a stamp and a signature. Since 2019, the Singapore Academy of Law also authenticates every notarised paper, and that step is included in our price.

Six Habits For Smooth PR Translation Services
Good preparation saves you a second round with ICA. These six habits come from the questions families ask about permanent residence application translation. Each one takes a few minutes and stops a common mistake.
Check my documentsSend Every Page
Photograph the front, the back and any stamped pages. A note on the back of a certificate still counts, and ICA may ask if it is missing.
Use Passport Spellings
Tell us how each name is spelled in the passport. We use that spelling on every translated paper, so ICA sees one person, not three.
Begin With The Birth Certificate
Almost every PR file needs it. If yours is not in English, we translate a birth certificate to English and notarise it in the same order.
Order The Whole Set Together
One translator then keeps names, places and terms the same across all papers. You also get one fixed quote instead of many small bills.
Check The Draft Slowly
Read every name, date and place in our draft before it goes to the notary. A change is easy now, and slower after the stamp.
Keep Copies For Later
Save every PDF in one folder. Many families later get documents translated for citizenship, and the same English names make that file easier to follow.

Notarise Your PR Translations Before Upload
ICA asks for a private translation to be notarised, so most PR files need this step, with no embassy visit. We arrange the notary and SAL authentication for each paper, as required for all notarised papers since 2019, from S$162.20 per document. Then upload the PDFs to your e-PR application, or collect a printed copy at Suntec.
PR Application Translation Cost And Notarisation Fees
Translation starts from S$25 per page, and notarisation with SAL authentication is added per document. That is the part of your PR application cost we control. Before you pay, we send one fixed quote for the whole set.
What decides your final price
Number Of Pages
Translation is priced per page. A one-page birth certificate costs less than a household book with many member pages.
Number Of Documents
Notarisation is charged per document, from S$162.20 each including SAL authentication. A family file with six papers needs six notarial certificates.
Language Of The Paper
Common languages like Chinese or Malay are usually at the starting price. Rarer languages may cost a little more per page.
Handwritten Or Faded Papers
Old certificates with handwriting take longer to read with care, which can raise the quote for those pages.
Express Service
Need it today? Express adds 50% and works for many single-page papers. Larger sets usually need the normal 1 to 2 days.
Printed Copies By Courier
The notarised PDF is always included. If you also want printed copies posted to you, courier starts from S$15.

Frequently Asked Questions
01Will your translation help ICA say yes to my Singapore PR?
No translator can promise that, and we never will. ICA decides each PR case on many factors. Our job is a clear, notarised English version that officers can read. If ICA asks for a change to our wording, we fix it free.
02My birth certificate has English and Chinese side by side. Do I still need a translation?
Often yes, if stamps, notes or names appear only in Chinese. We translate the parts that are not in English and keep the English as printed. If every word is already in English, you may not need us at all.
03Can I send scans instead of my original papers?
Yes. Clear photos or scans of every page are enough for us to work from. The notary public notarises our translation, not your original. Keep the originals at home in case ICA asks to see them.
04My name is spelled two ways on my papers. Which one will you write?
We follow your passport on every page. We can add a short note showing the spelling used on the original. If the names differ a lot, ICA may ask you for a deed poll or other proof.
05Does a PR file need SAL authentication too?
Yes. Since October 2019, every paper notarised by a Singapore notary public must also be authenticated by the Singapore Academy of Law. We include that step in our notarisation price, so you do not arrange it separately.
06I am outside Singapore right now. Can I still order?
Yes. Send photos on WhatsApp from any country. Quotes and drafts come by message, and the notarised PDFs come by email, which is exactly what the e-PR upload needs. You never have to visit our office.
07ICA asked for one more paper after I applied. Can you help quickly?
Yes. Tell us the deadline in ICA's message. Many one-page papers can go express on the same day, at 50% extra. Bigger papers usually take 1 to 2 working days.
08Can I reuse a translation I made for an earlier pass?
Sometimes. If the paper has not changed and the names still match your passport, ICA may accept it. ICA makes that call, so check its checklist. If anything changed, such as a new passport spelling, a fresh translation is safer.
09Does ICA accept PR translations from any translation company?
ICA does not endorse any private translation company. It accepts a translation by the embassy of the country that issued the paper, a translation by a notary public, or a private translation notarised by a notary public or attested by that embassy. Our PR translations follow the notarised route.
10Do I upload the original document together with its English translation?
Yes. ICA usually wants to see both, so upload the copy in the original language and the English version side by side. Keep the real originals safe, because ICA may ask to see them at a later stage.
11How long does ICA take to decide a PR application?
ICA does not publish a fixed date, and many applicants wait several months. Translation is a small part of that wait. Most documents are ready in 1–2 working days, so the papers should never be what holds your file back.
