Sworn Translation In A Country Without An Official Register

02Can you act as my Indonesian sworn translator for papers going to Indonesia?
We are not on Indonesia's list of penerjemah tersumpah. Some Indonesian offices accept a Singapore notarised translation with an apostille, while others want a local sworn translator. Ask them first so you do not pay twice.
03Can you translate English papers into Spanish for use in Spain?
Yes, we can translate them into Spanish and have the result notarised here. But many Spanish offices want a traductor jurado from their own list. Check with them before you order.

08Will Traffic Police accept a sworn translation of my licence?
Traffic Police wants a translation from a Singapore registered translation company or the embassy. A notary seal is usually not needed, so a sworn version may cost more than you need. Ask us for the plain option.

A certified translation carries a signed accuracy statement from the translator or company. A sworn translation, in Singapore, means the translator signs that statement before a notary public, who seals it. In countries like Spain or Germany, sworn translators are state-appointed, which is a different system.
10Do embassies in Singapore keep their own translator lists?
Some do. Embassies such as those of Italy and Germany publish lists of translators they accept for papers going to their country. If your paper is headed there, check that list first, because the embassy's own rules come before ours.
